POLICE COUNCIL TAX RATE CAPPED FOR NEXT TWO YEARS
Cheshire Police Authority will not be allowed to increase council tax levels by more than 3% for the next two years.
The Government has heavily criticised the authority for putting it up this year by an inflation-busting 6.8%.
Local Government Minister John Healey says "there is no excuse" for the big rise.
However, the Police Authority claims it is necessary to ensure quality policing.
