POLICE SEARCH FOR STOLEN IAN CURTIS MEMORIAL STONE
Police in Macclesfield are still trying to find out who stole the memorial stone for Joy Divison star Ian Curtis.
The offenders got away with it from the town's cemetery sometime between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning.
Officers have issued an appeal for information.
Several thousand people come to see the stone every year.
Curtis was 23 when he hanged himself in the kitchen of his home in 1980.
Macclesfield Borough Council says it will replace the stone if it is not recovered.
