On Friday 17th October we'll be recognising Cheshire's most deserving unsung heroes at a glittering ceremony at The McIlroy Suite at Macclesfield Town Football Club, as together with Carpet Creations we celebrate the 10th Silk FM Local Hero Awards.

The Local Hero Awards is the most important event for Silk FM. Since we started life 10 years ago from our studios on Bridge Street, we have staged our annual 'thank you' to the scores of brilliant, inspirational people who contribute so much to the quality of life across our communities.

We have recognised some outstanding individuals, organisations, projects and acheivements over the past decade, and this year will be no different. This years categories include:
